Graduation Awards
St. Thomas More Award - O’Neal Joseph Weber IV
The St. Thomas More Award is the highest one that the school bestows on a graduate. It is given to the student who best embodies the virtues of the Saint himself, Sir Thomas More, who was a layman and, as tradition says, “a man for all seasons.” These virtues include:
• willingness to give of oneself to the school
• outstanding achievement in academics and in extracurriculars
• service to the Church and civic communities
• desire to learn in all fields of knowledge
• humility, including the willingness to work behind the scenes
• no fear of being different when right, to stand up for positive beliefs
• strong values and religious faith, loyalty, and commitment.
The servant spirit of St. Thomas More is captured in a quote from the movie, A Man for All Seasons – “I die the king’s good servant, but God’s first.
Chancellor's Award - Alexander Francis Benton
The Chancellor’s Award honors a graduate who has outstanding achievement in academics in general and in the study of theology in particular and who is noted for deep spirituality and service to the school. The award will be presented by Reverend Michael Russo, Chancellor of St. Thomas More High School.
Cougars of the Year Award -Abbie Grace Soileau and Brian Keith Broussard Jr.
Each month male and female students are nominated by the faculty and chosen by the student body as Cougars of the Month for their notable achievements in extracurriculars and outstanding service to the school. The Cougars of the Year are selected from the Cougars of the Month.
St. Thomas More Foundation Award - Marie Elise Malzahn and Brandon Taylor Moncada
The St. Thomas More Foundation Award is presented to students who best exemplify the renewed commitment to St. Thomas More Catholic High School which the Foundation strives to encourage including being an example of Christian principles and Catholic traditions, demonstrating generosity of talent through participation in extracurricular activities, exhibiting leadership ability, vision and strength of character, demonstrating a love for learning, and a devotion to stewardship and the future of the school.
St. Thomas More Alumni Association Award - Katherine Joy Hotard and Keldrick Curtis Fauntleroy
The St. Thomas More Alumni Association Award is presented to a senior girl and boy who best exemplify loyalty and pride in St. Thomas More as evidenced by promotion of the school in the civic community as well as on campus.
Margo Comeaux Memorial Athletic Award - Camryn Sage Haik
Margo Comeaux served St. Thomas More Catholic High School as a Health and Physical Education teacher and girls’ basketball coach. The Margo Comeaux Memorial Athletic Award is given by the Comeaux family in loving memory of Margo to a female student-athlete who has shown the dedication to study, the competitive spirit, and the good sportsmanship which characterized Margo.
Rusty Randol Memorial Award - Rowan Keller Cline
The Rusty Randol Memorial Award is given by the Randol family in loving memory of their brother. The award honors a young man who has been noted for his admirable character, his cooperation with faculty and fellow students, and his service to the school.
Carolyn Michot Memorial Award - Charlotte Claire Brown
The Carolyn Michot Memorial Award is given by the Michot family in loving memory of their sister. The award honors a young lady who has been noted for her exemplary character, her cooperation with faculty and fellow students, and her service to the St. Thomas More school community.
Jay Faugot Studio Fine Arts Award - Katherine Joy Hotard
The Jay Faugot Photography Studio honors a student for outstanding accomplishments in the arts.

Eraste Autin '01 Memorial Scholarship - Reed Joseph Dupuis
The Eraste Autin ‘01 memorial scholarship was established by the Autin family and is presented to a senior football player who exhibits many of the exceptional qualities that set Eraste apart. The recipient of this scholarship must be disciplined in and dedicated to faith, academics, and athletics. He is a leader who has the courage to be true to his friends, his faith, and those that might be considered the “underdog.” Like Eraste, this outstanding athlete is funny, friendly, and gives his best to every endeavor. He is a true leader, in the spirit of our patron, St. Thomas More, as “God’s servant first.”
Jacob Crouch '99 Memorial Scholarship - Brock Ephrem Arceneaux
The Jacob Crouch ’99 Memorial Award is presented to a graduate who emulates Jacob’s personality and values. Jacob was chosen by his coaches to lead the Cougar football team, single file, into Cougar Stadium for the first game ever to be played on Cougar Field. He was elected captain of the team; both his teammates and coaches recognized his valuable leadership. This award is a gift to a young man much the same as Jacob – one who: has a love for friends second only to love for family; is kind to all; displays leadership, humor, and humility; and first and foremost, a love for our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Mark W. Graham '02 Memorial Scholarship - Rowan Keller Cline
The Mark Graham ‘02 Memorial Award was established by family and friends in memory of Mark, who died in action in Iraq. Mark was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. This award is given to an STM senior who has demonstrated good fellowship and character to pursue his or her dreams. For choosing the harder right instead of an easier wrong, someone
with a humble heart. This senior has courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy. This senior has a joyful spirit and steadfast hope.
Sgt. Patrick Oliver Williamson '04 Memorial Scholarship - Everett Michael Hillman
The Sgt. Patrick Oliver Williamson ’04 Memorial Scholarship Award was established by family and friends in memory of Patrick, who died while on active duty in southern Afghanistan. Patrick served with the U. S. Army’s 5th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. This award is presented to a senior who exhibits dedication and respect of all and has a strong sense of character.
