REQUIREMENTS FOR ACT TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS
If your child would like to take the ACT with accommodations please note the following:
ACT now requires a full education evaluation (within the last 3 years) OR a physician's statement for any medical conditions (including ADHD) within one year.
ACT requires a current Individual Accommodation Plan
ACT may require proof of utilization of services, which is documented each time a student uses extended time testing at STM. ACT may deny your child accommodations based upon non-use of services. We recommend that your child use extended time testing a minimum of 2 times per month to provide documentation.
Any student wishing to take the ACT with accommodations must have a current signed consent form on file with the Academic Support Department. You may access that document below.
IMPORTANT
Please note that STM does not approve or disapprove requested accommodations. This is the sole responsibility of ACT. They determine the necessary accommodations based on information provided by STM of the documentation on file with the Academic Support Department. It is the responsibility of the parent to update, keep current and on file with STM, all Evaluations and/or diagnosis that pertain to the individual student.
Approved accommodations must be certified for each test by the school. Once you apply for testing with accommodations, please send a copy of your registration to the Director of Academic Support as a safeguard to make sure the certification process is made by approved testing dates.

Once accommodations are approved through the College Board, it is the student’s responsibility to schedule a face to face meeting with either their grade level counselor or the Director of Academic Support to request the accommodations for testing during the school year. This would include all testing through the college board including AP exams. This meeting must be scheduled and completed by December 13th, 2024 for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Approved accommodations are not automatic and will not be given unless the meeting of request has been completed by the above deadline.
