No. Students may choose to opt out of the MORE program during scheduling for the following year. This requires parent and MORE committee approval, but is a possibility.

No. MORE students may be accepted into only one core class and up to 4. This depends upon the students' needs and our ability to accommodate those needs.

Yes, there is a possibility, but this depends on space in the program and the needs of those students who will be considered. For the MORE classroom to be effective, we must keep our class sizes small.

Please understand that there are additional support services that we can provide if the MORE program does not have space at that time.

The MORE program is designed for students with diagnosed learning disabilities. ADHD is a behavioral disability, which affects the student in numerous ways. Unless the student who is diagnosed with ADHD is also diagnosed with a learning disability, then they would not qualify. If they are diagnosed with both, they will go through the MORE evaluation process, but keep in mind that the behavior disorder can not overshadow the learning disability and/or interfere with the overall classrooom’s academic process.

Updated evaluations are needed simply because things change over time. While the Dyslexia does not go away, a student’s reading ability may improve or regress through the years. We also follow the same requirements needed for accommodations found through ACT and SAT testing, and along with most major universities

Tests and assignments are broken down into multiple parts before given to students. For example: A 50 question test may be broken into 2 parts, with 25 questions on one day and the remaining 25 on another. The student has 50 minutes each day to complete each part of the test, while in a typical CP classroom the student would have to take the test with 50 questions in 50 minutes.

Two reasons: First, most of our MORE students have difficulties with planning, breaking down assignments, getting additional help, etc. That’s what we cover in the class. Second, the class is taught by the Director of Academic Support, which establishes a classroom relationship with the MORE students, and through classroom interaction, helps to determine strengths and weaknesses that can be worked on during the remainder of that students’ High school career.
