Important Registration Information: A registration email will be sent to parents on February 23rd from our Registrar's office, mamie.romero@stmcougars.net. Any incoming student not registered by the deadline of Friday, February 27, at 3 p.m. will automatically lose his/her priority status.

More Involved is a one-hour mandatory parent education program for both parents and is required before registering your child in February of 2026.

This program will highlight important school policies and resources for parents.  Speakers will include Fr. Michael Russo, Chancellor; Principal and Alum, Marty Cannon '93; Nick Cortese '09, Dean of Students and Alum; Nicole Strother '92, Counselor and Alum.  These speakers will give you valuable information on what to expect in high school and how you can get involved at St. Thomas More.

**If you attended a More Involved meeting for your student who is in the Class of 2022 through Class of 2029 you do not have to attend this meeting.

2026 More Involved Registration

New Student Tablet Training: All freshmen and new upperclassmen will receive mandatory training. At the time of registration, parents can sign up their student for one training session.

1. How many students attend STM for the 2025-2026 school year? 
   1080
2. Describe the school day.
   School begins at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:34 p.m. We begin each day with morning prayer then announcements along with prayer in the afternoon.
3. Does STM provide transportation?
   Lafayette Parish provides STM bus service. The bus route provided for the 2025-26 school year begins at 6:30 a.m. at Planet Ice Rink (4317 Johnston St.).  The return route picks up from STM on or about 2:45 p.m. and drops off at 3:15 p.m. at Planet Ice Rink. (Bus service follows Lafayette Parish school schedules.) STM has been assigned bus #476 with driver Timothy Courville (337-781-0559).  
4. How early/late can I drop off/ pick up my child?
   The library is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Friday. Students left on campus after 4 p.m. will not be supervised.
5. What about lockers?
   Lockers are available at the student's request. The student is responsible for bringing a lock for his/her locker and to KEEP IT LOCKED AT ALL TIMES. Sharing lockers is not encouraged.
6. How much are textbooks?
   STM receives some funding for textbooks. Religion textbooks, Advanced Placement books, vocabulary and other books must be purchased. Book information is posted in the Back to School email. 
7. Does STM offer financial assistance?
   STM does not grant full tuition waivers. However, those in financial need may apply for partial tuition reduction through the school’s Work Study Program. Applications for these reductions are available at registration and are reviewed in mid-April. Work Study reductions are based solely on financial need and reductions apply to tuition only. All fees must be paid in full.
8. Does STM award scholarships?
   The Yvonne B. Jumonville Scholarship is awarded to one incoming ninth grader based on scholastic achievement as well as school and community service. The Harry and Jessie Greig Memorial Music Scholarship is awarded to one incoming ninth-grade band student.
9. Are athletic scholarships offered?
   St. Thomas More Catholic High School supports the policies of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). In doing so, STM may not promise or offer athletic scholarships of any kind. Violations may result in loss of eligibility for the student, coach and/or school.
10. Explain athletic eligibility requirements.

    All incoming ninth graders are eligible for sub-varsity (freshmen and/or junior varsity) competition. In order for a new student to participate in varsity sports, he/she must reside in the Comeaux High School district. Ineligible student-athletes may practice with the team but are not eligible to play in any games for a period of 12 months from the date of enrollment. A student who has attended an eighth-grade Catholic School in the Diocese of Lafayette and is enrolled in St. Thomas More Catholic High School is eligible for varsity competition. 11. How are students placed in Honors/AP classes? Honors/AP is based on the student’s grades in previous years as well as standardized test scores. Incoming ninth graders must score in the 90th percentile in math and 85th percentile in English and reading to schedule honors classes.
12. What does In Parish / Out of Parish mean?
    In Parish means being a registered member of one of our 12 owner parish churches - Holy Cross, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Wisdom, Sacred Heart (Broussard), St. Anne (Youngsville), St. Edmond, St. John's Cathedral, St. Joseph (Milton), St. Joseph (Broussard), St. Mary's, St. Jules, St. Pius X.
13. What is Morestock?
    Morestock is a fun-filled half-day event featuring live music, games, food, and a variety of activities held near the stadium, beginning at 12:30 PM. Students can enjoy performing or listening to live music, sampling a variety of food options, and participating in activities such as flag football (for both boys and girls), pickleball, cornhole, fun jumps, face painting, and bingo. Admission to the event is granted with a Morestock shirt, which is included in the Spirit Shirt Bundle. Students who do not purchase the shirt may still attend by buying an individual admission ticket. Food tickets are sold the week of Morestock during both lunches and on the day of the event at the ticket booth near the stadium. 
14. What is the Spirit Shirt Bundle?
    Students will have the opportunity to pre-order spirit shirts after the start of the school year. Shirts may be purchased individually or as part of a bundle. Available spirit shirts include class shirts, Homecoming, Cougar Court, and Morestock designs. Prom shirts and signed senior shirts are not included and must be purchased separately. All pre-ordered shirts are sorted by the Student Council and delivered to students’ homeroom classes during the week of the event. A limited number of extra shirts will be available for purchase at lunch during event week for those who miss the pre-order deadline.
