Theme: Cougar Companion Camp is out of this world (space theme)
Cougar Companion Camp is a fun, engaging, and inclusive camp designed for young adults 15+ with disabilities. The camp will take place at STM in the Options area, as well as other areas of the school, including the cafeteria and mall. It's a fantastic opportunity for campers to enjoy time with friends, try new activities, and learn new skills!
Each day will begin with morning praise and worship, followed by a morning meeting to set the tone for the day. Campers will then rotate through various activities, including art, cooking, and hands-on workshops with local businesses that volunteer to come and visit with the campers. The last part of the day is dedicated to practicing for the talent show that will be performed on the Friday, June 20th at 12:00pm for anyone who can make it!
Our team of counselors will include neuro-typical high school and college-aged peers who will provide guidance and support throughout the camp. All proceeds from camp fees will go directly back into the camp to provide materials for activities, including food, decorations, and art supplies.
Campers should bring their own lunch and snack. After registration, the camp director, Whitney Kent, will host a Zoom call to provide further details and answer any questions about the camp. She will also put all participant parents in a group to update on any camp information!
For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the director at (985) 590-1432.
We hope Cougar Companion Camp offers another exciting opportunity for your child to spend a week filled with fun, learning, and friendship—all while building important life skills!
