What is Power Monday?

This Monday, September 10 is the first Power Monday of the year. On this day, classes begin at 9:25 am to allow for faculty in-service. Power Monday's will occur six times throughout the year and are all noted on the school calendar at www.stmcougars.net.

Kairos and Quest forms are due Sept. 14

The deadline to register for Kairos and Quest is September 14.  Forms may be downloaded by clicking here.

Driver Education Course

A state certified driver education course is being offered at STM starting October 27 and open to anyone who is 14 years of age and at least 15 before January 1, 2019.  Space is limited to the first 25 that sign up. The STM Library Wants You!

If you have an hour or two to spare each month--any time between 7 am - 4 pm Monday - Thursday or 7 am - 3 pm on Fridays, we need your help! Mindless tasks--got 'em. Like to organize--√. Clean-up crew always appreciated. And if you want to dive deeper into only-in-the-library type jobs, we can make that happen.

Counseling TidBits

Introducing Coffee with Counselors: we invite you to join us in room 808 Thursday, September 13th, after mass, for coffee and conversation.  We hope to discuss the challenges that our students face as they are journeying through high school as young adults.  

Parents for Light

Parents for Light is hosting a panel of four amazing professionals in the fields of psychology and counseling: Dan Jurek, Roy Petifils, Dr. Amy Cavanaugh and Dr. Darren Strother. Join us Thursday, September 13 from 6 - 8 pm in the STM Cafe'.

The topic is 'Expert Tips For Parenting Teenagers in Today's World'. You do not want to miss this unique opportunity. The event is free of charge and the format for the evening is a Q&A session.

Bring in Those Cans
As part of a school-wide service project, STM students are participating in a canned good drive to help stock the pantry at St. Joseph Diner. This year's theme is Acadiana: Home Sweet Home.  Each homeroom class will build a structure out of cans, also known as Canstruction. Please remind your child to bring in those cans. Structures will be judged on Friday, September 14.

• A National College Fair will be held in Baton Rouge on October 3. Click here for information and to register.
• STM will host a College Fair on October 4 in the small gym from 6 to 8 p.m. More information to follow!

Lacrosse Parent/Player Meeting

Interested in Lacrosse? There will be an information meeting for all parents and players on Tuesday, September 18th at 6:00 pm in the school cafeteria. This meeting is mandatory for returning players and parents. For more information, contact stmlaxcoach@gmail.com.

The 3rd annual STM Lip Sync Battle on the Bayou is one month away and the teams are gearing up for another entertaining event. Tables are now on sale and as the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm...the earlier you buy your table, the better your seats will be!
