New student applications for the 2019 - 2020 school year are open.  Please visit www.stmcougars.net to apply if you have an incoming freshman.

Outdoor Track and Field

Outdoor track and field is holding a parent/athlete meeting on Tuesday, January 22 at 6pm in room 808.  The purpose of the meeting is to review the upcoming track schedule, gather contact information and handle all LHSAA paperwork. Technology Showcase - January 23

All students in grades K – 12 are invited to the Technology Showcase, Wednesday, January 23 from 4 – 7 pm at STM.  Students, parents and friends will enjoy STEM based activities from middle schools, high schools and upper ed.

LETC 2019

On Wednesday, Jan.23 STM will welcome over 100 educators from across Louisiana as we host the Louisiana Educational Technology Consortium, sponsored by Fujitsu.  

Counseling TidBits

As we move forward with the second half of the school year, our students may be more exhausted as they re-adjust to early days and late nights.  Research suggests that the average teenager needs between 8 to 9 ½ hours of sleep a night! Many teens say they get between 5-6 hours of sleep on an average night. Click HERE for an article addressing how to help your teen get some rest.  

College News and Deadlines
*The deadline to apply to UL Lafayette and be considered for scholarships is Jan. 31.
*The second LSU deadline is Feb. 1 for scholarship (with some exception) consideration.

*Please ask your student to be sure to read their email from their prospective colleges and from Counseling. Students should be completing their college applications in the next few weeks. There are numerous colleges/universities in Louisiana. Check them out here!  Students should not be delaying their applications because they are waiting to obtain certain ACT scores. They need to apply with their current scores and send any new scores to the school. Remind your student they are provisionally admitted to colleges and universities. Stay on course!

Year End Tax Statements from FACTS

Parents are able to print a year end summary of all payments processed through FACTS to be used when completing your Louisiana tax return. A printable payment summary is available on the Payments tab. It can be printed for a calendar year or a date range.
