Academic Spotlight

TV Production is a new course offered on the STM campus that originated from an extra-curricular club. Daily classes are spent preparing for live, campus-wide Cougar Cast broadcasts. These broadcasts, which are entirely student filmed, edited and produced, air each Friday morning during homeroom. Special broadcasts are in the works for Academic Pep Rally and Homecoming! Be sure to check it live on livestream.com/stmcougarcast. If you are unable to view the live version, you can always tune in to the recorded sessions found on the Cougar Cast YouTube channel, youtube.com/stmcougarcast.

Canstruction

Thank you for helping us collect 17,000 canned goods for St. Joseph Diner.  This is 4,222 more cans than collected last year and enough food to stock the pantry at the diner through the holidays. The Canstruction winners will be announced at the Academic Pep Rally next Friday.  Special thanks to Cougar football, Coach Strother, and Mr. Benny Littell for transporting and restocking the shelves and to Mrs. Shannon Phillips for spearheading this huge service project.

2017 Homecoming Court

Congratulations to the following seniors for making Homecoming Court:

PSAT and Pre-ACT Testing

On Wednesday, October 11, the PSAT will be given to all 11th grade students, and 9th and 10th grade honor students that were invited and have registered for the test. No school for all other 9th and 10th grade students and no school for seniors.

The Pre-ACT will be administered to all 9th and 10th grade students on Thursday, October 12. (This test is mandatory.) Pre-ACT simulates the ACT testing experience within a shorter test window on all four ACT test subjects: English, math, reading and science. Results predict future success on the ACT test, and provide both current achievement and projected future ACT test scores on the familiar 1-36 ACT score scale. No school for 11th and 12th grade students.

Open House
Open House is Thursday, October 12 with continuous tours from 5 - 7 p.m.  All prospective students and parents are invited to attend.  There is no school on Friday, October 12.
