Blue Ribbon School

In 2020, St. Thomas More was selected as one of 367 schools, only 50 of those being private schools, throughout the nation to receive education’s highest honor: the U.S. Department of Education's 2020 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence title.

Every year, the U.S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ levels of achievement. St. Thomas More was recognized as an “Exemplary High Performing” school. “Exemplary High Performing” schools have their state’s highest high school graduation rates and the highest achieving students (the top 15% in the nation) in English and mathematics, measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools award affirms St. Thomas More’s commitment to excellence through a rigorous, technology-infused academic curriculum, a robust spiritual development and service program, and countless opportunities for students to get involved in extracurriculars and athletics.

STM has been named a National Blue Ribbon School three times before this year, the last being in 1997-98. Principal, Mrs Kelley Leger states, “It’s important that our students understand and live our mission of being “Seekers of truth, individuals of character, and God’s servant first.” The only way that we can achieve this goal is through the hard work and dedication of our outstanding faculty and staff and their ability to connect with and support our students both inside and outside of the classroom setting.”

At St. Thomas More there are endless possibilities for each student, but one aspect remains the same: a well-rounded Catholic education in an environment where all are known and loved.
