St. Thomas More summer camp schedule is designed to meet the summer needs of most families with sessions begining June 2 and running through August 1.  No camps are offered the first week of July. Several camps have multiple sessions, with a few offering half day or full day options.

Takin' It Yard Softball Camp

Takin' It Yard Softball Camp

Camp will focus on the fundamentals of the fastpitch softball game including base running, hitting, defensive play and pitching.  Camp shirts are included.

Dates:June 2-4
Time:9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ages:7-13

About Jim Hightower's Skills & Drills

The Hightower Skills and Drills Football Camp is devoted to in-depth instruction geared specifically to the fundamentals of football and individual techniques.  The STM coaching staff provides quality instruction in all areas of the game of football.  After completing the camp, you will have a greater understanding of the fundamentals of football and proper techniques needed to become a successful football player.

About the Coach

Coach Hightower is one of four men in Louisiana High School Football history to win 300 games and is the second winningest coach in state history.  He has one state championship and 8 semi-final appearances as a head coach.  He has tutored a number of college level athletes, but more importantly he has mentored them all.

About Slam & Jam Basketball Camp

Typical day includes stretching and easy running. Station work consists of dribbling drills, passing drills, defensive drills, shooting drills, 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 and shooting competitions.

David LeBlanc's Speed, Power, Agility Camp

About David LeBlanc's Speed Power Agility Camp

David LeBlanc's camp focuses on improving sports specific performance.  Pre and post tests will be administered that measure: body fat %, lower body power, upper body power, speed and agility.  Upon completion of the program, students can expect to see improvements in their body composition, vertical jump, 40 yard dash speed, but more importantly, in their performance in their particular competitive sport.  This camp specializes in designing programs for explosive sports such as football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and track.  You will be faster, stronger, more agile, and exhibit improved endurance.

Your purchased sessions are flexible around your busy schedule!  Purchased sessions/weeks DO NOT have to be completed consecutively.  You are purchasing a certain number of sessions, not "days per week".  You may only be able to make 1 workout one week, and make all 4 workouts the next week.  You may also be out of town or have another commitment for a week..that's OK...you can come back to training following your time away.

About the Coach

Coach David LeBlanc is a nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS; NSCA).  He is an attendee and invited guest speaker at annual National Strength and Conditioning conferences throughout the country.  David has sixteen years of personal training experience.  He is head of the strength and conditioning program at STM, the most successful sports program in the state of Louisiana.

Gary Perkin's Glovers and Sluggers Baseball Camp

About Glovers and Sluggers Baseball Camp

Session 1 - Hitting Drills - This camp focuses on the basic approach to hitting (stance, grip, bat selection, balance, zones hitting, bat angle).

Session 2 - Basic Skills and Drills - This camp focuses on team competition at each age level along with basic defensive techniques (stance, footwork, grips, glove angels).  Proper baserunning techniques will be covered along with offensive situations.

Glovers and Sluggers baseball camp includes official camp t-shirt, awards and intrasquad games.  The concession stand will be open.

About the Sparklers

The Sparklers celebrated their 25th year of competition at UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida where they claimed 4th place in Jazz and 2nd place in pom.  The team has been ranked as one of the top 5 dance squads in the nation for the past 24 years and has earned 16 UDA national championship titles. The team is coached by former Sparklers Jenny Harris Matthews '95 and Kelly Gillespie '09.

All-Skills Day Camp

This 3-day camp will provide the opportunity for players to improve their fundamental skills of the game including passing, setting, hitting, and serving.

Jessica Burke is entering her fifth year at St. Thomas More as head volleyball coach. Since beginning her career at STM, Coach Burke has led STM to 3 state championships and 1 state runner-up title.  She has been District Coach of the Year for four seasons and was twice named All-Acadiana Coach of the Year and The Louisiana Coaches Association Coach of the Year three times.

The Varsity cheerleaders are offering a summer cheer clinic for girls entering K-8th grade.  Campers will learn cheers, jumps, dances and chants from the  STM Varsity cheerleaders. Camp merchandise will be available to purchase in the camp store.

About the Varsity Cheerleaders

The Varsity cheerleaders celebrated their 9th year of competition at the Contest of Champions in Orlando, Florida where they claimed the National Grand Championship title in the large varsity, level 5 division.  The team has earned 6 National Championship and 3 Grand National Championship titles.
